Women of Steel Triathlon--May 20

This was Autumn's 2nd time to compete in the American Fork Women of Steel Triathlon. 600 women signed up in just two days, making this a popular and well run event for women of all ages, sizes, and athletic ability.

Final advise from dad before the big race. Swimmers started every 12 seconds, then raced to their bikes just north of the pool.

Just finished the 300 meter swim in 6:54.693 and she's headed for her bike

The biking portion was 12.75 miles which she did in 44:30.750. Here she comes around the bend of the last leg.

Autumn just finished the 3 mile run in 26:39. Her overall time was 1:21:57.2.

Hey--The results are up and I'm in 2nd place in the Athena category.

Autumn and Steve waiting for the award ceremony to begin.

Autumn was 2nd place finisher out of 18! Later the the postings showed 53 in her category, but she still took 5th. Way to go!! She was only 2 min and 40 seconds behind the 1st place finisher. Best of all she beat her last year's record, and felt good about what she had accomplished. Out of 600 women she placed 95th. Not too shabby for a beginning triathlete.
